Once you’ve booked your dumpster and are getting ready for the “big clean”, there are a few pointers to consider before the arrival of your bin:
1) Ensure your dumpster will be placed in an easy to access location for your needs but also for the delivery truck to drop off and pick up – while it’s great to have the bin right outside the area you will be working, sometimes it’s not physically possible for the truck to safely load and unload in a certain place.
2) Make sure the surface the bin will be sitting on is not too soft and can support the weight of a bin (this sounds obvious but can be an afterthought on occasion).
3) Make sure you consider leaving enough room for the doors to swing shut! One of the nice features of our Halton Container bins is their swing doors (much easier than hefting items over the side) but you can’t lift a full bin with the doors open!
4) Make sure any vehicles are clear from the driveway if that’s where you choose to place it (it’s always better to be safe than sorry!).
5) Don’t hesitate to call our office with descriptions or send pictures of a drop off location electronically for those trickier, more detailed drop offs. As they say “a picture is worth a 1,000 words” and can ensure proper placement of your dumpster.
